Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using STL Shield (“the Service”), operated by HallyAus (“we”, “us”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of service

STL Shield provides digital rights management (DRM) for 3D print files, including file encryption, forensic watermarking, license token management, and piracy monitoring. The Service includes a web dashboard, desktop application, and API.

3. Account registration

  • You must provide accurate and complete registration information.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • One account per person. Automated account creation is prohibited.

4. Your content

You retain all ownership rights to the 3D files you upload to STL Shield. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your designs. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to distribute any files you upload.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to distribute illegal content or infringe on others' intellectual property.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, circumvent, or disable the encryption or DRM mechanisms.
  • Share, resell, or redistribute license tokens not intended for you.
  • Use automated tools to abuse the validation API or exceed rate limits.
  • Misuse the Watchdog service to file false DMCA claims.

6. Service tiers and payment

  • Free tier: 5 products, 50 tokens per month, standard protection.
  • Pro tier ($29 AUD/month): Unlimited products, 500 tokens per month, maximum protection, Watchdog basic.
  • Business tier ($99 AUD/month): Everything in Pro plus unlimited tokens, Watchdog advanced, API access, forensic evidence reports.

Prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD). We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

7. License tokens

License tokens are bound to specific hardware via SHA-256 fingerprinting. Each token allows a maximum of 3 device activations unless otherwise specified by your plan. Tokens cannot be transferred between accounts. Burned or revoked tokens cannot be reactivated.

8. Data and encryption

Your files are encrypted using AES-256-GCM with unique per-file keys. We do not have access to your decrypted files. If you lose access to your encryption keys and we are unable to recover them, your encrypted files may become permanently inaccessible. We recommend using the key export feature when available.

9. Limitation of liability

STL Shield is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We do not guarantee that piracy will be prevented or detected in all cases.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your encrypted files will be deleted from our servers within 30 days. License tokens issued to your buyers will continue to function for previously downloaded files.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Australia.

12. Changes to terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
